Technological Interventions to Create Effective Learning Ecosystem

Writer: Ashok K PandeyAshok K Pandey

In the age of technology and globalization, the children are assimilating information at a rapidly changing pace. We have to prepare our children for their future by integrating emerging and traditional pedagogy in which technology is indispensable.

The educational institutions today are adopting technology at different levels. For example, communication, managing educational resources, technology embedded pedagogy and developing technology-based educational governance more popularly known as E-governance.

The use of technology for communication and exploring educational resources is slowly penetrating its way in the classrooms. However, the use of technology in the management of educational institutions is yet to be recognized as a single most significant factor to optimize learning. The volume of data is increasing. The schools handle a huge amount of data in a very subjective, opaque and cumbersome way, lacking in transparency, accuracy. Our present data management does not meet the real-time requirements. Any data and information how so ever important it may be serve no purpose if one cannot use it to make decisions and remediation. It would seem that the technology supported intervention in data management, analysis, remediation and transformation is irrevocable.

Educational e-governance offers a perfect ecosystem comprising automation of academic and financial and administrative procedures including attendance, inventory, alumni management, technology for managing learning and learning devices.

Contextualizing this conspicuous incursion of technology in our school's training sessions could be organised in order to enhance technological interventions in the following areas:

1. Irrevocable arrival of technology for learning enhancement

2. Types of technological interventions

3. Technology-based systems

4. Technology-based educational e-governance

5. Management of technology

6. Blending and flipping.

Schools and teachers must come forward and embrace technology in a way they have not done before.
