WELCOME BACK
So, ask a school principal in the National Capital, how are you? Don’t ask me, is the universal reply in March and April. Examinations, evaluations, results, CBSE duties, preparations for the next session, circulars from almost everywhere, MC meetings, discussions around fee hike, Court hearings, new admissions the list is endless. But, as they say, time and tide wait for none. Children in a new uniform, new school bags, new hairstyle, excited and chirpy are back to school, April 1. Suddenly, you look at their lovely faces, bringing life, noise and meaning to the otherwise deserted campus. There is a unique feeling as you greet them and listen to their little chat. The morning assemblies which were missing for the last few weeks are back once again adding value, reflection, fun and excitement as the days begin. It is a unique privilege to address the morning assembly, and it is equally challenging to speak to thousands of children once an enlightened group of senior students have already taken turns sharing a beautiful thought, rendition of a musical prayer invoking God’s blessing.
